Michael Rutan
Assistant Golf Professional
Michel grew up in a golfing family in Ridgewood, New Jersey with deep roots in Westchester County. He has been playing and following the game for as long as he can remember. Having focused more on other sports during his elementary and high school years, Michael’s love for playing the game was ignited further while attending Rutgers University. There he was VP of the Rutgers University Club Golf Team, which played in regional tournaments against other schools.
Michael’s time at Rutgers gave him the desire to play competitively and seek a career in golf. In 2016 he accepted a position at Crystal Springs Golf Resort in Hamburg, NJ. In addition to being a Tournament Coordinator and the golf equipment manager for his facility, Michael was also a Taylormade Brand Ambassador. He did club fittings and ran many demo days, both for Crystal Springs and Taylormade.
This experience in a high volume 45-hole facility has prepared Michael for the rigors of working at a private club and he looks forward to assisting members at an intimate place like Saint Andrews. Michael wants to help others improve and enjoy the game as he seeks to obtain his PGA membership. His ultimate goal is to share his passion and enthusiasm for the game with our membership and their guests.
Michael currently resides in Ridgewood, NJ. Outside of the game he enjoys reading about military history, spending time with family, traveling and watching sports.
